Hi

Just joined the group after reading a thread about moving over from esa to universal credit.

I found it OK in filling in the details but was shocked when I saw i was moved over to Uc and was still getting new style esa as was under the understanding that the government was moving it all over to Uc. So what are the government playing at they could just keep it for older people on esa support group untill they finally get their pension instead of worrying them.

It was reasonably straight forward getting emails through to check journal and signing anything you had to and the only difference I had was I still got 140.55 esa a week paid 2 weekly and then the rest paid by Uc with the transitional allowance paid too so it worked out exactly the same as my old esa as I was and still am in the new style esa group. It was just an initial shock during the period that I had to check journal when they said I receive esa so my Uc amount will be affected so I replied saying if everybody is doing their job properly at esa then they should of filled in the gp?1 form saying you are in the support group so you then get the transitioning allowance which thank God I got my first uc payment and it showed the amount I was getting. At the time a day or 2 before ur payment is due click on home page on your account then payments as I got no notification through the journal apart from when they said first payment would be due 4 days so 25 aug before been paid a few days later on 29 august after opening my claim. Next 1 due next Monday 29th so have worked it out roughly to see what hopefully I should be receiving as will be first month with correct esa been paid this month compared to first month .

So overall pretty straightforward really from starting it on 23 july and 2 payments of esa during that period so no 5 week period of no money as esa still gets paid fortnightly and if on pip you still get that as normal.
