Hi, I am fairly new to benefits and I am really confused.

On the 22nd of September I was told my result from the work capability assessment was that I have limited capability for work and work related activity (LCWRA) and I was told something about back dates payments and it said something about 3 months since I submitted my first fit note..? but I’m really confused when I will receive these backdated payments.

I submitted my first fit note on May 13th of this year and was accepted as LCWRA on September 22nd of this year.

Could anyone please help me and tell me when I will receive these backdated payments?

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods before LCWRA is added to your award. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.

    A few questions:

Do you claim UC with a partner who gets LCWRA themselves?

Do you receive any Transitional Protection on your claim?

What date did you report the health condition?

Were there any gaps in handing in Fit Notes up until the decision? It's the date they are given to UC that counts, not the start date written on them.

    When is your Assessment Period?
