How can we find help on this - Thank you

👋A relative of mine has been asked to repay £907.90 in Income Support, which was mainly for her children. This is a large amount of money for her.
At first, she was accused of being abroad from mid-June to mid-July. Today she received a letter stating that she was abroad for 32 days in July 2023, which is 2 days longer than the allowed limit. However, no evidence has been provided to show how these dates were calculated. No much on her journal. We suspect that someone close to her may have reported her, although when she called Universal Credit, she was told there is no record of such a report.
She requested a mandatory reconsideration back in April, but is still waiting for a decision. She doesn’t feel strong enough to handle an appeal on her own. Where can she find help with this?
And is it worth pursuing an appeal?
Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you🙂

You can find support using this link:
Your post doesn't actually mention though whether she did go abroad and what the dates were.

Hey @654321 and welcome to the community.
The DWP will be able to see if your relative was abroad for any length of time (through various means) and they do ask that any time abroad is mentioned to them asap. So it may be best as Kimi has said, to seek more specialised support for this.0 -
Thank you, at Turn to us there are a lot listed but too often they are over loaded of requests. Which one has the ressources to help in London?

You would have to contact local organisations individually to see if they have current capacity to offer help.
