Hi, does anyone know(not guessing please) why Maximus would Ask DWP if a Paper Based Review is possible I was under the impression once Assessment Providers have the Review it was Their decision?

It probably has to do with the Claimant themselves Requesting the PB Review and not AP or DWP themselves.

I understand Obviously if it was Their chosen method it'd be because there's sufficient supporting evidence.

However, I thought a yes or no to the request would come from Maximus & wondering in what circumstances They'd Ask DWP if it's Ok.

Very confusing & worrying for the claimant if anyone Knows the Facts please no guessing it's worrying enough without more speculating. Many thanks x

Heya @emc123 They've asked the DWP about a paper-based review because the final decision-making power rests with the DWP, not the assessment provider. The assessors pass on their assessments to the DWP decision makers, who then make the final decision.

Sorry I've not made myself understood. I know If a PB is Done they send it to DWP to Decide as for Any Assessment, But, they Have Donea PB, it was Onlya Request from The Claimant, and Maximus have Sent this Request to DWP to decide IF a PB is Allowed.

So no Assessment as yet, just a Claimant Asking please can you do a PB because of OPD and Disengaging amongst other problems Inc self harm.

A very Detailed GPFR was sent from Mental Health Occupational Therapist specialising in her CPTSD and other MH disorders.

Just never known APs to Ask DWP "US a PB Ok"?

Wonder why a Yes or No didn't just come from AP?

In what circumstances would they Send this Request to DWP

Sorry not made it clear, I know the Decision lies with DWP After Assessment, but they're not asking DWP for Decision on Assessment, they're Asking DWP Can They Do a Paper Based Assessment?

So it's not been sent for Decision post Assessment the decision Maximus want is Can a PB be done at all?

Don't know under what circumstances They'd Need to Ask this when it's in their power to decide Assessment Type?

She's severe MH disorders and OPD was Evidenced and a Detailed GPFR From MH team

I think in this case, the only people who would be able to tell you why would be Maximus.

It may be a simple case of they were just double checking there was the right information there to do a paper based review. It may even be a new member of staff.
