Very recent PIP Assesment

Hi all, I’m new here and also new to claiming pip. My assesment took place nearly 3 weeks ago, we arrived by taxi,it was a very short walk to the door and seating area. The lady who assessed me said she didn’t need to do a pyshical exam an let me go home early after being there for about 30-40 minuets. I phoned them this week to ask for a copy of the report but was informed they have asked the assesser to re look at question 11? She claims she watched me walk 5 meters without stopping but I walked with a gate? I did stop frequently and she did not watch me walk for more than 2-3 meters as the place was quite small. My question is the decision maker has asked her to look at this question again based on my medical evidence?? Not sure what to think to be honest. Any advice greatly appreciated TIA

    @minty74 Several things come to mind. First assessor's don't always tell the truth so, unless another assessor has been asked to look at this again then he/she isn't likely to change it.This should not stop you being able to have a copy of your report sent to you. You have a right to see this as it was done in the beginning. Any amendment should go on a PA5 the next stage along in assessment forms. If this is the case make sure they're not calling this your Mandatory Reconsideration as this wasn't your request and there may be other things you wish to dispute when you see your report.

    It is hard to second guess these things, however if the DM , who has no medical knowledge, thinks that the assessors reasoning for Q 11 is at odds with the other evidence then it could be a good thing. Does your evidence support strongly that you can walk less than 20metres /

    Whether you walked 2/3 meters or 5 meters without stopping is neither here nor there.  You can walk up to 20 meters without stopping to qualify for enhanced mobility.

    Did the assessor say that you walked with a normal gait?  That is a favourite, and often inaccurate, assessor statement.  My assessor claimed that I walked with a normal gait whereas I walk with a limp.

    This info was given to me over the phone? It was question 12 for at least 2 minuets, then said it was question 11. The assesser left her room once and walked in front of me not behind, I can only assume she took her so called evidence from CCTV footage, which shows I stopped more than once a few times.

    @minty74 I'm sorry to say they don't need evidence. What they don't know they make up as they go along. Their check list answers have to be filled in and they have so many assessments to complete in a day they don't have time to find the right frame on CCTV to watch one person walking in. You are fortunate to have a DM who is willing to question the word of your assessor. I hope you get what you're entitled to at the end of all this.

    Even if u could walk this  distance .ain't gonna get you around for days on end to go to job shopping   even bus stop this is such a load of nonsense so much talk every where  when  are people gonna put a stop to this we all know how wrong it is ..But no one taking a firm stand against it all these legal folks fighting cases why because they know it's wrong ..I'm sure it should be  something forced  to be changed .. We the people  claimain't  don't hold any power to help our self so people in power should  do it   they have the ability .. I'm sure

    Aw Cathie the system is shocking to say the least! I’m not a fraction of the person I used to be or the person that used to hold down a full time job, go out socialising etc now the simplest of tasks feels like climbing a mountain!

    @cathie. I think you are wrong. We DO have the power, we need to make sure our voices are heard, and acted upon. It may feel as though nothing is happening, and there are terrible cases in the news every day, but I think that slowly slowly little things are changing for the better. The wheels grind slowly but we will get there eventually .
