£162 million (scheme costs) divided between the 40,000 patients that they plan to help - is £4175 per person - I would rather have the cash !
They are welcome to sit in with me whilst I tell my GP of my health issues - Or even take an active part in my Colonoscopy
NOT !

Pretty empty those health centres, if mine is anything to go by. Face to face appointments are as rare as hen's teeth.

Catherine, your GP is still bound by strict confidentiality rules. They cannot share your personal information with a job coach or anyone else without your clear consent. If you say no, that is the end of the matter.
You may receive a message after an e Consult or phone consultation asking whether you would like to be referred to a work coach. If it is not right for you, a simple “No thank you” is enough. You are under no obligation to explain.
Personally, I believe this scheme is a poor use of public funds. It does not tackle the real barriers people face and risks undermining the trust patients place in their GP as a safe, clinical space.

As I said in another thread, I'm not unemployed I'm unable to work.
The aim of these schemes is to get the long term sick off benefits entirely, even if the absolutely perfect job with a very understanding employer was found for me, I still could never manage anywhere near enough hours to support myself without a benefits top up.

Phil Davies, when a tory MP, he proposed such a thing in 2011. It didn't go down well!
