how do I refer to a user’s post so they get notified. I know it’s, for example, @fredflinstone, but I can never get it to work. Thanks.

Hi @FredFlintstone another way is to press quote and it will show the post of the member you want to answer.

You alert @FredFlintstone by putting an @ in front of his user name. It doesn't always work and there's no obvious pattern to explain why. It has nothing to do with operating system or browser.

Usually, if you have predictive text turn on,it doesn't work.

Do be aware that members have the facility to turn off tagging notifications.
If someone tags me I don't get notifications.

Doh! So all i had to do was turn off predictive text? I have been puzzling over that since January! @Ironside1990

Click the word "Quote" that is right under their comment and type what you want to say and they would get notified through the email they supplied. This is exactly what I'm doing right now for you to get notified of my comment.

Click the yellow circle on top of the page, which will display your username. It'll open a new page. On this page, on your right hand side, you'll see "Notification Preferences". Click it and this will open up a new page. On this page, under the "Notifications", you'll see "New comments on my activity feed posts" in the list. If you uncheck it, then you won't receive any notifications on your comments.
I think it's good to receive notifications on your comments for you to follow the input of other forum users.
