Advice
I had a very brief phone call from the DWP regarding my PIP review form. The woman who called me said that an in-house decision has been made due to the medical evidence that I sent, that my award would remain the same for a few years, and that I should receive a letter in 7 days tine to confirm this. However, during the conversation I was told that my PIP claim would now be closed. Is this standard procedure from the DWP after a successful PIP review has been completed and the decision has been made to keep my award at the same rate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Bugz, if your award has been extended, it sounds like they meant your review is now finished. Saying your PIP claim is 'closed' is a strange way to put it though, so I can understand why you might be confused about it!
Hopefully your letter will come through soon to confirm things. Were they able to tell you how long your award has been extended for?

Hi Rosie_scope,
Thank you for your message.
The woman who I spoke with said a few years, but didn't say specifically how many year's. The phone call was very brief. I was advised that a letter should be with me in 7 days confirming that an in-house decision has been made to continue to award me my current award.

I agree with Rosie here. A review is like, but not exactly, a new claim and as your review has been successfully completed, your claim (review) will be closed or closed off. That is what is meant here.
