@StarryEyed yes i love Doves too. My parents have numerous Doves in their garden, wood pigeons too. Fantastic.

@Rosie_Scope I'm an animal lover all my 59 years, i worked in rescue back in the day and it was my total dream. Wish I could do it still, I have v few animals around me these days as I cant really do for them what needs to be done for proper care, I do still have my dog though im used to having three together, my birds and some old goldfish in an aquarium, my oldest fish lived to 19. My dear grandad is gone about 18 years, i put a pigeon on his and my grans grave, we also got a horse embellished as he loved them too.
I wish I could still be surrounded with animals, it was never a chore constantly doing things to mske them happy and enrich their lives... it was my entire world, nothing was too good for them. They depend on us. Thank you.

It sounds like you've made a huge difference in the lives of many different animals @Doglover2, and I'm sure the ones you still have really appreciate your care ๐

@Doglover2 are you unable to care for many animals due to your disability? I've never even heard of a wood pigeon. I looked it up and found this. Is this for real?? It looks gorgeous!!

So sorry to hear about Albus. Condolences for his family and all of you who knew him better than me. Iโm away just now, but we have loads of pigeons at home. Iโll take a picture when Iโm home.

this was my beautiful girl Holly I saved 5 years ago, she only passed away two weeks ago and Iโm devastated . She was my whole world . Pigeons are so loving and she followed me all over the house and loved her cuddles and kisses. In memory of dear Albus and Holly xxx

Holly is gorgeous @sensitivegirl, she sounds like such a sweet and loving little lady. So many people don't realise that pigeons can be wonderful companions, but I hope part of Albus' legacy is that more people learn what sweet birds they are. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing her with us ๐

I have a porcelain figurine family of white doves to share in honour of Albus. It's very delicate, gentle and joyful....

Feeding my local flock of pigeons on Erith Pier. There is a sign instructing not to feed the pigeons, so we ignore that.

Pigeon Power, we as humans underestimate those feathery friends, when i was homeless and losing the plot and no human seemed to care, well i think and feel pigeons care, they do not judge, they don't ask for anything and yet they will approach you, i used to sit with them and talk, Humans thought i was mad, but i truley beleive the pigeons helped me get through some tough times, so thumbs up to Albus and our pigeon friends
