Hi @dil786, you can still get some vehicles on Motability if the driver is under 25, but they are restricted on the type and it's usually the smaller vehicles. It's worth giving them a ring or getting in contact to discuss what would be possible. There's some details about who can and can't drive your car on the Motability website here: https://www.motability.co.uk/get-support/during-your-lease/cars-wavs/named-drivers?open=1

I'm afraid I don't personally have any ideas about the seven seater cars, but I hope some of our members might have some suggestions for you soon ☺️

    Hi,

Currently Motability only offer 5 vehicles with 7 seats for under 25's.

The best option looks like the Dacia Jogger with a 1.0 petrol engine. That still looks like a car and has the lowest Advance Payment of £995. Bear in mind it is fairly low powered, which should be fine around flat areas, but maybe not if you live in a hilly area.

The other options are all vans, and all have much higher Advance Payments. Citroen Berlingo (plug-in electric only), VW Caddy (petrol or diesel), Ford Tourneo Connect (petrol or diesel) or Ford Grand Tourneo Connect (diesel only).

Thnx, another question if you know. Can a appointee go alone to deal with mobility scheme dealers ?

Yes, the appointee (named driver) can go alone to look for and collect a Motability car. They will need to take proof of ID for both themselves and the claimant.

If they choose to go ahead with a Motability car then a PIN number gets sent to claimant. This PIN number is required to release the car from the dealership. So make sure you have access to that PIN before making travel arrangements to collect the car.

The PIN comes from Motability when they confirm you are eligible for the scheme. They may still send it in a paper letter through the post but the easiest way to access it is online through the Motability account.

When you collect the new car, you will have to give the salesman this PIN number to confirm that you are happy with the car and then they will let you drive it away. The named driver won't be able to take the car unless they can provide this PIN number.
