ok thanks, yes i understand the £13.05 deduction but i guess i got confused as Housing Benefit was called a deduction. I didn't know that.

when i just got a journal post asking me if i want advice on developing skills, building confidence, options for the future, i think to myself that they have no idea about bad mental health. I'll show them my physical scars, they can't see the ones in my mind

Hi @Tumilty. That will be the new support that the DWP are offering. It's completely voluntary so you're ok to ignore it, please don't worry about it.

    Hi

So i'm building up to the 6th of Nov. The day i need to write on my journal that my savings account has £500 less than when when i applied for UC, so i assume i tell them this. Not sure how much will be in current account on that date but saving account £500 down as i say.

A few day late i will have PIP & UC paid so then it will be up again, but that's not a problem i guess from what been told as it's what is the situation on the 6th? Hope i'm correct @OverlyAnxious. Just wanted to make sure i understood your advice correctly.

    Regards

    Yes, that's correct.

You don't actually write this in the journal section. There is a specific section for making changes to savings. When you go through the changes section, it will ask you to put the amount down for each of your bank accounts on that day, then the system adds it all up automatically.

If you write the numbers in the journal, then you have to wait for a human to read that and make the changes for you.

Ok many thanks.. yes the savings account will be less as I said and the current account will be pretty much down to zero until 5 days later when UC goes in.

That was my original query, telling them it's less then it goes up.

    Regards

    Yes, that's absolutely fine.

When you get paid UC & PIP those are classed as income for the first month. They are not savings so not a problem. (And just as you said, savings amounts only matter on the 6th for you anyway).
