universal credit work and rent
hi there I was wondering if I could get some advice. I'm currently on pip and uc, i have high functioning autism anxiety and depression. I find it hard to leave the house I was hoping to do some remote work either part time or full time. I live with my mum and dad the both have uc and pip we live in a council property. if I got a job how would that affect our rent as I know this comes from the benifits. how much rent would need to be payed from my work income I'm scared ill mess up my parents incomes if I get a job but I really want to try and do something with my life even if I find it very tricky

There would be no impact to your parents Housing Element.
This is because they get PIP and that prevents a non dependant deduction being made to their Housing Element, whether you work or not.

I'm assuming you live with your parents as their non dependant.
This means you have no legal liability for rent and can't receive Housing Element in your name.
As advised you working or not your parents are exempt from a non dependant deduction from their Housing Element.
Nothing will change with your parents Housing Element entitlement if you start work.
