Whilst we all know that the BBC are meant to be impartial in all things, I wonder if things aren't getting a little silly. What are 'pregnant people? Is that not just woman?

I know this is a very controversial topic, while I do believe everyone has a right to be who they are and identify as who they are. When it comes down to anatomy until there is complete science to turn males into fully females as terms of bilology (and vice versa), then when it comes down to things like medical advice or anything defining the biology of that sex then I think its okay.

It would be different if we had the science to turn someone into fully females and actually able to get pregnant and carry children.

So in my view she didn't do anything wrong at all.

I tend to agree with you there, rubin. I would love to believe she is only being reprimanded for giving her opinion of the matter with her facial expressions as she read it out.

I agree, it is becoming farcical.

A politician can look like a rabbit caught in the headlights, if you try to get them to say 'woman'.

I'm the same, Kookee, but isn't it a sign of the times that you had to add that?

not trans but how people identify.

My friend Vik is the headmaster of a school. There was or is a girl there who identifies as a cat. School rules state you must recognize this . I asked him how does one deal with this. He said it was easy, just put a cat littler tray outside the toilet door for her
. She soon changed her mind.

The local train was cancelled a few weeks ago. Bus services were laid on. On one bus the words. “ I identify as a train” scrolled across the text bar.

I agree. Watching the video of her, to me, it looks like she thought it was a typo on the screen she was reading from, not intentional. Its ridiculous the action BBC have taken, especially in light of the two videos that have been edited, as reported in the MSM about them.

There was a post on Facebook about a mother in America ranting about her daughter identities as a cat and she took her to the vet , who wouldn't treat her That her school has a litter tray for her, which the mother goes and empties.

That is just silly, I think perhaps a joke? I wouldn't believe everything I read on social media!

Somedays I think the world's gone mad. Surely only biologically born females can get pregnant?

Human females, yes. Some animals are hermaphrodites.

Philomena Cunk describes women as human pets for men and she might be right 🤣

If someone identifies neither as male or female and becomes pregnant, who am I to label them as a woman and not as a 'pregnant person?'

That sounds a little desperate tbh. It is absolutely a good thing to embrace all genders, but human biology dictates that a pregnant person can only be a woman.

Some may ask why we bother with terms like “pregnant person” when “woman” used to cover it. I suppose it’s like asking why we bother with “vegetarian option” when “food” used to cover it. Language evolves because people do. Not everyone fits the old labels, and not everyone wants to. And one thing I am sure any pregnant woman or person will agree on, when you’re in labour, you don’t care what anyone calls you.

    In Philomena's own words…

“Women had always existed in the background of history, largely being used as human pets for men, tolerated for their magical ability to excrete fresh humans through their front holes. But in the early 20th century, social scientists discovered something incredible: that a woman could do anything a man could do, without the need to talk about it.”

You tell them doll! Emmeline Pankhurst would be turning in her grave to hear all this nonsense.

'Dictating' seems to be more about language than biology.

And what was the point of fighting for equality if women are still being defined by their ovaries in this discussion, I wonder…

But we are still fighting for equality.. Who says anything has changed??
