PIP help please
I went to tribunal back in 2023 and won the appeal they said it was awarded to me based on my mental health I was awarded enhanced living and mobility. I was in abusive relationship which I left and suffered a miscarriage due to the abuse. I was also assaulted. This was over a period of a long time so it really affected me causing me to have ptsd they awarded pip to me for four years
now I’m coming towards the award end date I sent in my form and then they sent me this text message which I have attached to this but if you can’t see it, this is what it says:
We have received your PIP review form. We may contact you for more information or you may need an assessment with a health professional before we make our decision. We will contact you again if you do. You will continue to get PIP while your award is being reviewed. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.
Since the tribunal I’ve suffered two more additional miscarriages and now I have recurrent pregnancy loss which means that it is quite a big medical condition because my body isn’t able to carry pregnancies and this makes me really traumatised especially had a recent loss in August
The effects of to this day. I don’t leave my house often. I always go with someone I don’t like being alone outside because I’m worried someone’s gonna attack me. I’m even scared within my own home that someone’s gonna knock the door down and kill . I see things before the period of abuse happened. I used to work. I went to university as I was a really different person but the abuse the really affected me. I documented this all the form with my sisters help and I even gave proof of my pregnancy losses.
But now they sent me that text message it makes me feel like despite the tribunal and even putting the tribunal evidence they don’t believe me and it’s really disheartening because I’ve lost so many babies and I’ve suffered from random weird things which happened straight after my miscarriage I was put on the suspected cancer referral because I’m having weird vagina bleeding which is abnormal and this was added onto the form
I feel like I won’t be believed and I’m really upset. I am working age so I think that’s why I’m down on but honestly if I could do I would wish that I could work. I wish that I could be like a normal woman and give birth, but I’m starting to feel like I’m abnormal and I don’t know why I’m not like other people my age that go out and to help people like used to support help them with their lives and give them advice. I used to be a support worker now I’m in desperate need and I need help and I’m scared. I’m scared about this assessment. I don’t know how I’m gonna handle it being asked all these questions Because I feel like the paper pip have no hearts. I’m on long-term medication and this makes me feel really drowsy and I can’t do much without someone support. What am I gonna do? If they give me a telephone assessment? How am I gonna get through this? What does this text message mean? does it mean that my Pip is going to be taken away?
my pip expires in April 2026

Hi,
This is just a standard text message for everyone going through a PIP review. It is not personal to you and does not mean anything at all.
Hopefully you will have a paper based assessment and keep your existing award. If they do ask you to have a telephone assessment, do you have anyone that could be with you for the phonecall?

@ilovepink97 sorry for what you have been through, try not to get down over the PIP review.
As OverlyAnxious has stated, the message is a standard one that all claimants get. It means when they review your form and evidence you sent in, if they need more information they will contact you. This would be a short phone call from the DWP to clarify some points. If they need a lot more information, they will ask you to take part in an assessment with a health professional. These are usually progressed over the phone.
You may have sent in enough information and evidence to have a paper based review/assessment and you will not be contacted for any of the above!
Keep calm and relax if you can. Best of luck too!

I'm so sorry to read this @ilovepink97 as I had 3 miscarriages, but then had 3 children, tho miscarried my middle child's twin. I had begun to think I'd never have children, but there's also hope for you too.
As the others have said above, what you've received is a standard text. Please keep in touch to let us know what happens with your PIP claim as everyone will do their best to support you along the way.

Morning all
I had a paper based assessment.
I was awarded higher rate on both components for an "ongoing" period of ten years.
It took 5 months for decision.
