If we could live a different life
This is inspired by @Amberpearl……
Well this could be a very fun one to say the least 🤨
If we could have a different life from what we have now what would it be?
In all honesty mine would be to be free of pain and daily battles with mental health as a starting base..
I wouldn’t want to win the lottery, but I would like to have enough brass in the bank where my day to day life would be comfortable.
I would be living in a small cottage in Angus Scotland where my Ancestors are from. Around the cottage would be a few acres of land consisting of a woodland area filled with wildlife, fields with a mixture of Hawthorne Hedges and Ash Tree’s intermingled with them bustling with wildlife. There would be a large pond and wetland leading to a river filled with fish, ducks, geese and beavers reintroduced. In a the fields would be Highland Coo’s, Donkeys, Shetland Ponies, Shire Horses and Clydesdale Horses. The house would be cosy, warm and be self sufficient with a cottage garden, solar panels, wind generator and heat pumps. Inside would be an open roaring fire with an old Aga on the go to heat the house.
Outside in the driveway would be three cars, a short wheelbase defender, Type One Split Screen Crew Cab Pickup and a Series Two Jaguar all converted to Electric.
I would have three dogs, a Springer Spaniel, Black Labrador and a Staffie. All would be able to go on adventures into the Lowlands and Highlands of Scotland. Swim in the Loch’s, Rivers and Seas and Run down Beaches.
Inside the house would be a Grey Parrot and a Cockatoo, Ball Python, then three Cats.
I would live a life of attending live music, theatre and comedy events.
I would be living as a hermit living a quiet life, volunteering in the community and helping out those that are in need.
I would travel each year for two weeks to far off destinations only to then return home to a cosy home in the country.
This is of course pure fantasy but it would be my idyllic life in another world.

Nothing wrong with being a hermit

I 100% agree, far from the maddening crowds

I'd love to live in the middle of nowhere! I'm a hermit myself seldom go out.
in an ideal world I'd change many things significantly, especially not having all these conditions and not making all the mistakes I've made which aren't your average ones.

I live on the edge of Dartmoor, only sheep for neighbours and people walking to see the taws.
Water is a borehole supply. Oil and LPG heating plus solar tubes for hot water heating.
Devon is much warmer than Scotland.
there is no white noise here.
no crime either. Getting food delivered is a pain but I have a local shop 5 miles away. The lady runs the post office. She shops for me and charges a small fee for delivery. The only real thing that I have is a sim modem battery back up. and my phone. Power goes off often but it’s ok as have all the back ups.
living remotely you must be prepared for all eventualities. Bad weather and accidents do happen. Self rescue is number one for me.I would not go back to mainstream so called Normal living in a concrete jungle on an estate.
My biggest bugbear and people do not notice and that is how may starlink satellites in the sky. Absolutely shocking.
