I have a disability support officer, I have CFS/ME and another condition called BSM. I am in the support ESA group! A person from another charity has told me that the rules have changed and its no longer 16 hours plus earnings of £120 to do supported permitted work. Im looking to do part time work. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi @Brendabrad, welcome to the community!
I have M.E myself and know how difficult it can be to find suitable employment opportunities. I've moved your query into our ESA category, where there will be others who can advise you further on this. -
Thank you Pippa

Hi Brendabrad and welcome
You should be very careful that any work you do does not contradict the reasons for your claim
There are two differnt types of permitted work
This is from the gov sitePermitted work
If you do ‘permitted work’ it won’t usually affect your ESA. It’s permitted work if both the following apply:
- you earn up to £120 a week
- you work less than 16 hours a week
There’s no limit on how many weeks your permitted work can last for.
Supported permitted work
You can do ‘supported permitted work’ and earn up to £120 a week. Supported permitted work must be one of the following:
- part of a treatment programme
- supervised by someone from a local council or voluntary organisation whose job it is to arrange work for disabled people

Thanks Cockney Rebel, I do have a disability support worker and have tried two separate jobs that didnt work out. Of course DWP have had me send in new claim form because of this but they say not!
I was told the amount had gone up and the hours are irrelevant, is this the case or is it still £120 and under 16 hours (supported permitted work) -
It is still £120

Hi @Brendabrad.
If you are claiming ESA the rules has not changed and under permitted work the same hours and income apply.
If you were claiming Universal Credit the rules would be different.
The best thing to do if you feel unsure is to do a entitled to calculation.

I hope this will help.
