When do your Christmas decs go up?
In the immortal words of Maria Carey, it's tiiiiiime!
I love the lights and decorations of Christmas, so I'm always eager to get the decs up but I do like to wait until December rolls around. Sometimes I feel like Christmas doesn't feel as special if things start too early! This year I'm all about bringing in the cheer early so I'll be getting mine up as soon as I can this week.
So for those who also enjoy this time of year, have you got your decorations up already? Or do you wait until a bit later in the month?

Christmas tree went up Saturday and don't have general decorations anymore, when nan passed away they were binned due to their age and amount, I also moved at the beginning of the year so haven't yet got round to potentially getting more, maybe next year.

Never, the only sole reason I do anything at Christmas is for my nan's sake. When my nan is sadly gone I will never celebrate Christmas. Can't stand it.

Most years, I adoooore Christmas decorations. Some years I haven't decorated. Depends on where I'm at. Since I do things slowly now with mobility limitations, I started decorating very early this year - on November 9th! I think I'll finish this week.
Yesterday being the start of Advent I started playing my Christmas playlists. It was really hard to hold off because this year I'm really wanting the music too. It's nice that every year my Christmas enthusiasm is different.
@rubin16 your post reminds me of what someone said to me a few years ago when I asked her if she liked Christmas. She said, "No. But I like that other people like Christmas. I really enjoy that ".

Ours have been up since the 15th November😅
I much prefer the build up of Christmas rather than the actual day itself!! Plus when the lights are turned on in the tree, it makes the living room look much nicer😂4 -
Yeah, I don't celebrate Christmas myself as I don't believe in it. However i'll sacrifice my views and feelings to always make it special for my nan while shes still here.

I honestly believe death is a better option than being forced to listen to any christmas song, I hardly listen to music as it is (not really a fan of any music tbh).

To be fair, I'd pay just to not listen to it. Is there an anti-music subscription I can sign up too, take all my money. Music to me is just noise, and I hate/sensative to noise, christmas music is just god awful noise, i'd rather endure torture than ever listen to it.

Rubin, in fact there is an anti-music device, so to speak. It's called noise cancelling technology in headsets and earbuds. I have a huge Sony headset my sister bought me a couple of years ago. I only use them at home because they're really big. When I'm falling apart, I put them on to get into my private bubble. Sometimes I have music in my bubble and sometimes just the noise cancelling, as in complete silence. If I'm really quiet and still, I can even hear my heartbeat! It glues me together and calms me down so well - like nothing else! It's my little silence dome. Have you tried that technology?

I second the amazing world of noise cancelling, The soundcore ones I have work beautifully as long as the Bluetooth is connected it'll utilise the full potential,often there's settings for environment outdoors,indoors, traffic, coffee shop etc a mode for most things.

I'm loving the Christmas decoration pics and stories here, including those of you who opt out of Christmas. It's one of the things I love about Christmas - it's optional. Since it's typically celebrated about one month of the year, it represents about 1/12th (8%) of our life. So statistically speaking, it's quite likely it's going to have some terrible memories. The years I have opted out of Christmas, I've still felt I was part of the Christmas season, because many people opt out of Christmas. And Christmas is one thing pretty much everyone has an opinion about. I love hearing the different takes on Christmas, like we're doing here. Variety is the spice of life!

I'm a big kid, I like the Christmas decorations up. If you have had a stressful day, they calm you. I"m always saying in a local seaside pub "When's the Christmas decorations going up"? Some start early now, houses had Christmas decorations up just after bonfire night this year.....

Our Christmas card gets put on the mantlepiece at 6 pm on Christmas eve and removed on boxing day by 6pm…
The OH doesn't believe in Christmas. (bah humbug)

Thats another thing I've never made sense of: Cards
Why do I have to buy a piece of cardboard saying Merry Christmas or Happy Birthday for £2-£3 a card?
Isn't it better if I just send you a personal message or actually say "Merry Christmas / Happy Birthday " rather than wasting money on an overpriced piece of paper thats literally read once and thrown away.
These things just don't make sense to me at all
