At Scope we follow the social model of disability - that's why we use the term "disabled people". It's not about the abilities of the person - but the barriers that exist in society to stop them having the same opportunities as others. Hope that explains it.
Not everyone agrees - and that's OK - you are welcome to use "alternatively abled" if you prefer.0 -
