'The Sky Boy' is my favourite picture. Health and safety?😲

Haha health and safety on farms and industry back in the day was like reading comics only worth a good laugh I dread to think how people would cope living in those times now

The bloke in the top picture. Survived working unsecured at 1/4 mile height, but killed in a car accident at 46.

Should of had his seat belt on

Seat belts in those days? Even i can remember cars with no seat belts. My old man had a 1975 Morris Marina with no seat belts in the rear ( he fitted them for me and my sibling).

To be fair. Did you really need seat belts back then? Cars were like 0-20mph in like a week.

LLoL i was being sarcastic my grandad got kicked in the head by a cow and lost an eye was back at work within a week different time back then I should write a book haha

I can't imagine michael57 being sarcastic. Btw, i hope he kicked it back!
1 -
Tsk you don't kick cows you find why they kicked you and don't do it again haha

That is a much better idea, i'm sure. Maybe the NI farmer who had to hide under his slurry tank from his bull. Maybe he had kicked him in the past?

When anything gets done to a bull on a farm the owner or whoever works on the farm should stay out of the bulls sight they and cows have very good memories

As I told you before, and i hesitate to tell you anything about cattle; i was briefly on a farmers forum, and all the young guys were bragging about giving them a kick or whatever. With little (very little) experience of our bovine friends, I remember thinking that didn't sound like a good idea!

I might be mistaken, but I always thought that just like with dogs, projecting confidence was half the battle.
Gus goes up to cows and sniffs at their fetlocks. I discourage this as i'm scared he gets kicked. I am ok with him doing it to well socialised horses.

Why would he hate highland cattle? He is friendly to ( I am going with what you told me) Charolais.

Ah there heads and feet are rather painful when they connect but there very friendly within reason I would rather run behind them than in front of them that's for sure

I had a kick aimed at me once, but thankfully I wasn't as feeble to get out the way as now. My previous Staffy, Dino had been barking at a calf that had been playing with him. ( They surprised me with how playful they are).

Very playful nothing better than turn out in the spring I called it the cowmans happy day never missed one in my working life on farms
