Help
hello, I wonder if anyone has advice or thoughts on a problem I will have.
I am age 64 and receiving universal Credit, which includes housing, and pip. I will soon receive a settlement from my divorce (sale of house) and if it’s over 15,000 I’ll have to come off of UC and use the money to live on instead, which is fine. However, it’s going to be a relatively small amount and will only last a short while before I’ll have to reapply for UC again. With the new rules, when I reapply, I will get the new lower amount for new claimees (I think) which means I am being penalised. I wanted to give my daughter a lump sum as I’ll be able to live with her in the future if she uses that to get a house to accommodate me. Not sure if that’s allowed. Any advice welcome

It's likely to be seen as deliberate deprevation of capital I'm afraid.
You might want to discuss the situation with a local welfare rights organisation.
