Christmas celebration.
I want to start a post where you finish.
It's not Christmas until…………
Mine:
You get sticky tape to your lips and it won't stick to what you are wrapping because its all crumpled and its pulled the skin off.

It's not Christmas until the preparation is done and you are ready to sleep until next year.

Its not Christmas till you can't do a normal shop without the horrendous music blasting everywhere making your ears hurt, and everyone running round like stressed headless chickens bumping into you without a care in the world.

Until I've watched my favourite Christmas video....

I love that song too. I just looked up the date …..
David Bowie and Bing Crosby sang together in
1977
for the Christmas TV special
Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas
, performing their iconic mashup "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy," which was recorded in September of that year, just weeks before Crosby's passing.
I didn't realise he died the same year 😞 14 October 1977

Omg @Freesia123 ! I didn't know any of that. That's ancient!! I would have turned 14 that year. Wow. Wow. Wow. That's a beautiful connection with you. So guess what? I did a little hunting too and found that special on YouTube. Way! I'm watching it now 😀 Thank you. Here it is...

It's not Christmas until @onebigvoice shares another lovely Christmas poem with us all.

Thank you … I've never seen that before! Or his wife and children.
I'm a little older than you as I turned 18 that year 😁

@Freesia123 I knew nothing about anything you posted, including the show or anything about Bing Crosby's personal life. It was a delightful show! How amazing that it was done in England with English cast. How appropriate for this forum! I just had to watch the Heroes video after. Classic. He changed the world with his music. Such a visionary. I saw him when I lived in Toronto back in the 90s. What a blessing to see him. In case you want to see it.....

in Christmas exchange gifts why is Christmas so special

If Christmas was an adamant object, I'd probably set fire to it and watch it burn.

What terrible memories.

You might find it helpful to get something that best symbolised Christmas to you and actually burn it. Just a thought.

O K :
My twinkly lights are up ✨
My twinkly Lights are up
I found them in the attic
They were all covered in dust
with boxes all on top of it.
I remember last year the kids had ago.
but first we had to find a tree in the forest down below.
Not to big and not too small
nice and full around the bottom.
Now I was tired already, wrapping, they now have a Christmas Eve box
so that's another load of presents.
Oh now its up, the tinsel wrapped round.
Who's going to plug it in?
In case it makes your eyes sparkle.
I plugged it in and switched it on
And made a big bang sound,
the poor kids I thought I killed them
as they jump and scampered around.
What do you mean that one job done.
I thought we had just begun
There the front garden and the roof
to string them all around.
I came home from a shop it was a bit late
to find the kids had decorated the front
with a 7-foot snow globe and a 9 Foot gingerbread man.
I kid you not, the lights could be seen from space.
And every time the space station went past I'm sure they gave a wave,
If you think I'm joking, I'll take a picture or two so next time you fly from Cardiff,
you can enjoy the aerial view.
