Recommendation for foot cream -splint user
Hello, my husband is suffering with calluses and bleeding from his foot and leg where he wears his splint. I want to get him some good cream and wondered if anyone had any recommendations as it goes beyond " dry cracked heels"

When I used to wear splints, I found that Sudocrem worked well.

@Sal_Fino You should consult your GP too, but one cream that comes to mind - Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream.

A non antiseptic cream but is great for hard skin and not too costly is Aqueous cream.

The reason I'd consult a medical or similar authority is that creams can often have a moisturising effect on skin, which can make it more vulnerable. Details can be key.

I believe aqueous cream can in fact act as an irritant. I would ask my pharmacist or GP before i applied it.

Yes it's definitely a balance because to a certain extent the hard skin protects his foot enabling him to walk as his foot is turned. But too hard and it cracks cause him huge pain when walking not to mention the risk of infection. Trying to get him to book a doctors appointment though is like pulling teeth!

Skin and creams can be a slippery combination in more than the literal sense. In order to give accurate advice we'd likely need full and complete details of his situation/history and a medical degree of some sort.
Good luck, expert advice should be available it seems to me. I hadn't thought about a pharmacist. That may well be worth a punt thanks Chris75_.

I use Flexitol Rapid Revive for calluses and agree that Sudocrem is good for dry skin. Also, E45 works quite well.

A pharmacist is a great idea, you could also consult a podiatrist.
