I think the DWP has got my UC award wrong

I've only just realised that the DWP might have got my UC award wrong. Before I migrated over to UC in July, I was getting ESA. I guess you could call this old style ESA. I got £489.30 every fortnight. My savings were less than 6K, I was in the support group, and also, I was getting SDP. After migrating over to UC, I now get £281.10 for ESA every fortnight, and £411.10 every 4 weeks for UC.

One thing needs to be explained is that at the start of my UC award, I asked for a £400 loan, spread out over 10 repayments of £40. So, I guess the UC amount could be considered to be £411.10 + £40 = £451.10.

But I don't think the sums all add up. Have the DWP forgotten to give me Transitional Protection? I made sure that my UC migration claim went in before the deadline on their migration letter. Thanks very much for any help on this matter, it would be really appreciated!

EDIT. I'm confused. Perhaps they haven't made a mistake? I tried doing some sums on a spreadsheet, to see if I could figure this out. I did:

489.30 * 26 = 12721.80 I think this represents the old style ESA amount, for the year. 26 lots of a fortnight.

    Then I did this calculation:

281.10 * 26 = 7308.60 I think this represents the NEW style ESA amount for the year.
451.10 * 13 = 5864.30 I think this represents the UC award. Its 13 because I think that's the number of "per 4 weeks" you get in one year.

If I add the two **** totals up, above, which are 7308.60 and 5864.30, it comes to £13172.90, which is 451.10 extra. But I guess that somewhere along the line, my sums aren't quite right, because that amount is precisely the amount that a "per 4 week" UC amount would be. (Unless I get 12 lots of UC, rather than 13, which would explain this!)

But the thing is, I think that maybe the DWP haven't forgotten the TP in my UC award?

To convert a weekly benefit into a monthly, you multiply the weekly amount by 52 then divide by 12.

UC is paid once per calendar month (30 days) so you get 12 payments per year.

    I make the figures:

    Old ESA £1060.15 monthly

New ESA £609.05 monthly +£451.10 UC

    Equals £1060.15 monthly

That means your UC already includes Transitional Protection because UC LCWRA + Standard Allowance (single, over 25 no dependant children) pays & 823.41 (with or without the £609.05 deduction for NS ESA).
