LCWRA and the upper savings limit of UC
What happens to LCWRA status when you go over the upper savings limit for UC? Is your claim closed and would you have to apply again for LCWRA if your savings dip back below 16K?
If so, if your claim was closed in error (if DWP failed to deduct Cost of living payments from your declared capital) would reapplying for LCWRA still be required.
If you were also on support group ESA does that hold the door open for LCWRA?
Im expecting things to go tits up for me at some point as there are delays in me spending money Ive saved for house repairs and seems very little awareness of rules around cost of living payments at dwp. Obviously in current climate losing LCWRA would be very bad.

Yes your UC claim (all elements including LCWRA) would close if your savings went over £16k.
If you felt the claim closing was an error due to DWP failing to deduct CoL payments, you can request they look again at the decision (Mandatory Reconsideration) and appeal to an independent appeal tribunal hearing if the decision was unchanged.
If you had an active New Style ESA Support Group claim, then on reapplying for UC you would be entitled to have LCWRA applied automatically to your new UC claim.
