Come to My virtual house for christmas!
Hi!
My name is Emma. Due to family issues, this year ill be alone at Christmas.
Christmas can be a very lonely and isolating time if you don't have a family or a place to come home. Why not join me here for my "virtual Christmas"
Anyone can join me, we stay just in this chat. People of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome !
routine is as follows:
Christmas eve (24 Dec) π
Welcome to My imaginary Home! As you walk in out of the raging snowstorm into my log cabin , you can hear the crackling from the warm log fire and smell the smell of cinnamon, spices and evergreen trees.
There is a warm light and plenty of comfortable places to sit. The tree has been decorated but I saved you a spot for a decoration of your choice.
So I welcome you with a warm smile as Christmas eve begins.
1900: Wash- Maybe take shower, maybe just wash your hands. Getting squeaky clean ready for pyjamas. I'll be putting on my Christmas jumper and some comfortable pyjama bottoms. Try to wear something comfy- even if its a just clean pair of socks.
1930: This is the time to prepare something nice. My family would typical have pizza. I'm tube fed so I'll be treating myself to a lollipop and a hot water bottle. Whether it's a cup of hot chocolate or a whole roast turkey- something to enjoy whilst watching the movie.
2000: The movie. My family watches Polar express. you can watch whatever is available. I tend to make comments whilst watching the movie so I'll be doing just that here. 2000 start on the dot if you want to be annoyed by my commentary.
Christmas dayπ :
10.00-12.00: Gift Exchange- This is where we can discuss gifts we revived, gifts we gave or even gifts we wish that we gave or received. Its not a competition. But if it was- I already won with the squishy poo I got my grandma. π©
13.00-14.00: Christmas dinner. Christmas dinner isn't just about food. It can be if you want it to. Here we can tell Christmas cracker jokes and and have general chats about anything you like. We are all sat around the table, with each other. Christmas dinner will end at 1400.
1500- Kings speech. Love it or hate it- its a tradition.
1530- dessert. You listened to the kings speech so you deserve to break out the Christmas pudding. I'll be lighting a Christmas candle in its place. Let me know. What do you put on your pudding?
1600 onwards we will play it by ear x
I look forward to seeing you there β€οΈ

Hi all. Emma, what a delightful idea! I've been watching Polar Express the last couple of nights. It's also one of my favourite Christmas movies. I've got 15 min left, so I'll watch it with you when you start. I'm going to watch Jim Carrey's Grinch now, then pause for Polar Express at 8. I'm intolerant to most foods due to peripheral neuropathy, so I'll love sharing all this virtual movie food that I prepared for your Christmas movie party. Thank you so much for the invitation!! Huge Christmas hugs to you and all other Scope members (including staff, of course)!!! ππποΈ

Hi Emma. Teddy is adorable π₯°. I finished Polar Express and almost finished The Grinch. Just 15 min left but I'm wiped so going to bed now. What did you watch?
Here is a really fun Christmas song to tuck you in - Justin Bieber singing Drummer Boy. I love this version! I hope this isn't too uncool for you π
I'll pop in to see you tomorrow morning. I hope you're okay. Big Christmas hugs heading your way. Good night. β¨π€β¨

Someone's made an effort, very smart Ted.

Thanks :)
I took your advice and decided to watch the Grinch. I'm around half way through. I think I'll go to bed and leave it on in the background.
I listened to the song. Its a nice version - I never heard it before so added it to my playlist.
See you all tomorrow :) And merry Christmas for those having a busy day!

Merry Christmas Emma π«πβ¨ποΈβ¨
Just getting up. I slept tons and very well. I'll be going out for Christmas lunch with family today. How are you doing this morning?

Merry Chritmas!
Its great you slept well :) Enjoy lunch with your family! You'll have to remember the cracker jokes for us π
I'm doing okay. My Grandma opened her presents on videocall. She got a squishy stress poo, a little gem mining kit (for her to use whilst watching opal miners), some telescopic back scratchers (mobility aid) and some prescription chocolate.
She got me lots of stickers that I can put places, a scout uniform for teddy and some rope to make bracelets. she is really thoughtful.
My temperature went up (like normal, not contagious) so I will have a snooze and allow it to come down- then maybe call her again and play with the rope to make some bracelets.
I hope you have an excellent time with your family with lots of happiness and laughter!
