Hi all,

Really confused by my latest statement from UC on the 25th/Dec

This is what the payment shows:

The amount you get is based on your circumstances from 25 November to 24 December 2025

Standard Allowance £628.10 (looks correct)

Housing £529.84 (looks correct)

Children £339.00 (looks correct)

Transitional Protection £356.51 (looks correct)

Total Entitlement Before Deductions£1,853.45 (looks correct)

What we take off (deductions)

Take-home pay -£863.85 (Badly Incorrect)

Earnings reported by your employer £1,981.64 (Badly Incorrect)

Carer's Allowance £360.97 (Badly Incorrect)

Payment to your landlord £529.84 (looks correct)

Total deductions £1754.66 (Badly Incorrect)

Your total payment for this month is£98.79 (Badly Incorrect)

Now the confusing part as follows:

My earnings from my employer was £1044.37.....not £1,981.64 like they have put above.

I also reported to UC on the 24th of November that i stopped getting Carers Allowance but they have taken £360.97 for Carers.

I'm sure the statement should of read the following:

Standard Allowance £628.10

Housing £529.84

Children £339.00

Transitional Protection £356.51

Total Entitlement Before Deductions £1,853.45

Earnings From Employer £1,044.37

Deductions:

Take Home Pay £348.00 (because of the £411 UC cap)

Landlord £529.84

Total Payment After Deductions £975.61

What a horrible Xmas me and my family are having.…..am i wrong or are they.

Regards

Den

    Hi,

As you reported an end to Carers Allowance on the final day of the previous AP then that shouldn't have been deducted this time. Did you get any confirmation from UC that they had processed that change? If not, it's probably just delayed due to the extra workload and reduced staff etc over the xmas period.

Earnings is a strange one though. UC don't make that up, it comes direct from your employer, so it sounds like your employer has made the mistake there. If your place of work is open as normal on Monday I think it would be worth checking with them before going any further.

I think UC have done their part with Carers as they did not give any Carers Element, i think it might be something to do with the communication between Carers and UC as to why UC took Carer's Allowance £360.97

As for earnings i can't see my wage slip yet as the App that lets you see it is not working right now…..I can only see what went into my bank account from my employer which was £1044.37.

    This is a nightmare.
