I am an autistic women also going through menopause which has turned the volume up on all my autistic trates . I have managed to get myself into 5 grands worth of credit card debt for the second time trying to rescue my small jewellery making business. My husband keeps all his finances seperate so if I don't earn I have no money as we don't always get UC because he sometimes earns a lot and sometimes a little . Even if we do get UC (I am on lwc) he still expects me to pay the same amount towards bills and mortgage . I a drowning , he won't help and if I don't pay it of I think he will leave me. I just can't get him to understand how it happened again and I feel so low and guilty I have nowhere to turn

    Hi,

Have you contacted a professional debt advice agency at all? Somewhere like Step Change? They should be able to help reduce and repay the debt over time.

It's all very confusing because they all talk about household but my husband does everything financial seperate and I just give him a monthly amount for bills and food . I don't know if the debt is against me or business. I am really struggling with my mental health

Martin Lewis has several debt advice resources, including those for business debt.

Have you approached your GP for mental health support and help with menopause? There are treatment options available, no woman should put up with suffering through it.

I'd also suggest you contact the below organisation or similar, to explore the concept of financial abuse.
