PIP Review - admin error

Hello

I'm in the midst of my first PIP review. Award ends April 2026, Review form completed and sent in early October 2025.

I called DWP to get a progress update mid November as wanted to send in more evidence as well and they said progressing. I rang after Christmas and they found an admin error, my form had not been placed in the appropriate queue. It was languishing unallocated. So they said will put in right queue and likely won't hear anything for about 9 months.

But they rang me back half hour later and said needed to go to "different assessor group" (bit vague / can't remember exact words) and I would hear within 4 to 8 weeks.

So yesterday I thought I'd check it had been put where it should be - and was told assessor has till Mid Feb to contact me about assessment. They implied I would definitely have an assessment appointment but how could the DWP staff say this if not assessed yet???? Dreading assessment as I get angina due to stressful situations and conversations.

What I am also not sure of does this mean I will definitely have a assessment appointment? Or could that be yet to be decided.

Whilst a quicker process is good (I think) the change in timescale is alarming. Why might it be sooner than later - good or bad sign?

I've only had initial text saying got my form.

Would very much welcome views / advice.

thank you
