Board games – what do you enjoy playing?

I absolutely love board games and have quite a big selection. I host board game nights with friends and it always gets quite competitive!

My favourites at the moment are:

  • Taboo
  • Ticket to Ride
  • Scattergories

What are your favourites? I want to add to my collection!

    The kids strongly disagree but Monopoly Sore Losers Edition is a fun twist on a classic.

    Also very partial to a game of Deface Race and Exploding Kittens!

    It certainly does count @Amberpearl! I love scrabble, both the actual board game and the phone app. I've never tried monopoly on my phone, maybe I should. I do a lot of puzzles on my phone, mainly crosswords or word games and I do a sudoku every day. I find it a good way to relax.

    I was introduced to Cards Against Humanity with some friends a while ago. It was funny, as I'm always the quiet one who just smiles when something dodgy is said, but I won by a huge margin 😆

    I'm not sure if it counts as a board game but there's a party game called Telestrations which I've always found hilarious. If you get a good group together it gets silly very fast!

    And we have an old version of Game of Life from the 1980s which is very dated but in a fun way. The choices you are allowed to make are a bit 'of their time' 😁

    Another for Monopoly, but nobody to play with, so I play Monopoly Go! on my phone. In fact, that is the only thing I do on my phone apart from Whatsapp with family & friends, plus ordinary calls.

    Have you tried Rapidough, Pictionary & Balderdash, they're some that we used to play, all a good laugh.

    My friend introduced me to the Monopoly card game a few weeks ago. It was so much fun and quite a bit quicker than the board game. Would definitely recommend.

    I love Monopoly too and I'm oddly quite good at it. I always seem to win. Just a shame I can't be that good in the real world with these things 😂

    Cards against humanity is so much fun @66Mustang. And Uno, can't forget Uno.

    Monopoly … I would rather do the most painful thing than play it 😀

    I enjoy Articulate (If only to see the look on my daughter's boyfriends face when he's paired with my wife … )

    We seem to play a lot of card based games they bring home. Taco Goat Cat Cheese Pizza being the latest. I'm sure they buy the ones that cause the most frustration at my now lack of coordination. Lucky I can laugh at myself. Even if it's through gritted teeth 😁

    Yahtzee would be my favourite I think. Luck and percentages of chance

    I love Yahtzee too @WelshBlue! I play it on my phone too, have you played it? There are yahtzee-based minigames which are quite fun. My family loves Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. It's so easy to get confused though, especially when a Narwhal shows up 😂

    I looked up Telestrations @Rosie_Scope and it sounds a lot like Scrawl which is amazing. It's such a fun game with a group of friends.

    I'd never heard of Enchanted Forest @Ross1975 but it's now in my Amazon basket!

    Another game I love is Labyrinth. The board is covered in moveable squares with paths and treasures on them. You pick a card and have to move the paths to get to your treasure. It's a great tactical game and it's quite different.
