Autism is not caused by "bad parenting"

My mum was amazing , she passed in 2017. I have dyslexia and autism. When I was at primary school mum noticed I couldn't read words on a leaflet we were given by the mobile dentist. School never bothered. So mum taught me to read . I was 5 , my reading improved, despite I mis read things still. Autism is genetic, my daughter has it, diagnosed at 14. Although I noticed when she was small. But no one took me seriously. Especially primary school. The sen teacher didn't believe in it.
I myself was diagnosed age 55 , 59 now. I struggled my whole life.

Anyone who thinks autism is down to bad parenting should spend the weekend with my grandson! I think they'd soon change their mind. He's got major issues. I'll be honest, I can't cope with him sometimes but both his parents have got the patience of a saint.
