Contributory ESA only - P45 received

I am in the Support Group since 2011 with ongoing contributory ESA claim. I have not had a WCA since the original claim was accepted or any other contact from DWP other than an annual increase letter.

Today I received a P45 which implies my claim has ended as it gives last date of claim as 8 January.

I have not had any other letters about migration etc but reading other posts on this Board it appears to be related to new style ESA changes. I am not eligible for income ESA.

I am very worried as I have a fortnightly payment due this week and am also worries I've not had notification that I am being moved so don't if my claim has truly ended or it's something else.

I struggle with telephone calls so prefer not to call the DWP helpline. Should wait to see if another letter turns up?

Any other advice or reassurance please?

    Hi,

This is most likely just the change from CB ESA to New Style ESA. You will still get the same payment, it is only a name change in practice.

Thank you for replying. This is what I am hoping. I am just worried becuase not received any other letters just the P45.

    Will they re-assess me soon?

As OverlyAnxious advised, it's a name change only, an admin exercise etc.

It doesn't cause payments to stop or reassessment.

just to add to this i had a p45 sent to me and when the next payment went in it was part esa and part jsa,im in the support group so i phoned them and was told that there's a glitch on the computers because of the change from contrubution esa to new style esa the computer thinks your esa claim has ended and she says it will be fixed by the next time my esa paayment goes in.
