I was retired on 'ill health' by my employer, my local council way back in 1992 I was just 31 years old. I appealed and was granted a second opinion which confirmed I was no longer able to work and then was retired on the basis of ill health from my local council.
25 years on i have been told i will be assessed again maybe on a yearly basis 'just in case my condition gets better'.
O how I laughed ..... Multiple Sclerosis  is a 'dream' of an illness and wont change your life in any way whatsoever???   NHS  wake up to where the money is being drained away and stop trying to make us guys with neuro & other conditions feel that we are a drain to your resources.
We only need understanding, funding and responsibility from the NHS which we have paid in to.  I am nearly 57, I have paid my taxes since the age of 16 until my ilness took over, so almost 30 years of giving with a very poor level of health care for the NI contributions I have paid.

Hi @lilli, and welcome to the community! Thank you for sharing this with us - how strange that they suddenly got back in touch so much later!

I hope you're coping as well as possible. You may be interested in taking a look at our neurological conditions category, where you may find other members with MS or similar conditions. Let us know if we can be of any assistance!
