Glad it's not just me @Eveie_Wonder! We were gifted a spiraliser, well I think that's what it's called, so we used it grate cheese and it was life-changing. I haven't seen it for a good couple of years 😂 I remember my mum got a frother thing that you put in coffee or hot choclate, push down and it spins. That week we had hot chocolates every day, then it was shoved in a drawer!

Have you got any gadgets that you actually still use? I'm considering a kettle tipper as I find it difficult to lift.

Banana, peanut butter & a grind of salt 🤤 Cheddar & jam, Cheddar & ketchup & Cheddar & onion. Sadly, I can't eat them now, but I'm salivating.

So manty things @Rachel_Scope We have a bread maker that's lived on the fridge for years. When we got it we had fresh bread everyday. A Soda stream that I probably would still use if it wasn't hidden away. A hotel chocolate Velvetiser that makes delicious hot chocolate. A single waffle maker it was delicious but as hard to clean as the toastie and a Diablo (another toasted snack maker)!!

Was going to try a kettle tipper because my shoulder is getting weaker but I have my daughter lol

Yeah I have my husband to tip the kettle! Does she make a good cuppa?

I love the idea of a bread maker but I probably wouldn't use it after the first week. A velvetiser sounds very fancy, I can taste the hot chocolate now ☺️ It's definitely an issue when something is hard to clean, no matter how useful it is!

I bought a juicer a year or so ago and I absolutely loved it but like you both, as soon as I put it away I had completely forgot about it!

yeah she does a good job and very rarely complains.

It used to be nice setting the bread maker up to have fresh bread ready when you wake up (now I want to get it down).

I think it was the rising cost of milk that stopped me using the Velvetiser!

My Mom still makes smoothies in her Nutra bullet so I think if we had a juicer that would sill get used @Mary_Scope

Oooh I bet it was lush having the house smell like fresh bread as well @Eveie_Wonder 😍 especially in the colder months! What sort of bread did you make?

That sounds delicious, I always think smoothies are such a good way of eating more fruit and fibre as the skin and flesh is still there, what smoothies does your mum make?

It acted like a natural alarm clock lol

We used to love cheese bread and just ordinary white or brown. It just tasted nicer when it fresh and warm.

She likes them in the mornings with berries, apple juice and maybe a banana but sometimes at weekends she'll treat herself to a Mango, passion fruit or pineapple with a banana

I'm going to encourage you to get the bread maker out! Then you can share pictures of your bakes.

Since I've been talking about it the more appealing fresh bread sounds lol

Just catching up so sorry for my long reply or lots of posts 😅

I didn't know you could get frozen ones @Eveie_Wonder, and Cathedral is my favourite cheddar so I'm going to look out for those next time I do an order from Iceland! Yum!

I LOVE pickle @Delphi but have never even thought about doing it in a toasted sandwich, I don't know why but I'm going to be brave and try it!

@Rosie_Scope do you mean the beans actually INSIDE the toastie???!

Can't beat a plain cheddar @Amberpearl, classics are the best!

hahaha @Adrian_Scope the clearing up is definitely the worst part of those sandwich maker things, they never quite get clean!!

@OverlyAnxious that made me giggle because when I was younger and people would talk about toasted sandwiches, what you have now is exactly what I thought they meant!! I'd make them and not understand the fuss as it was nice but I didn't quite get the fuss. I still do it now sometimes because it's much less faff than cleaning the toastie maker!!

Raspberry is the best, but blackberry or bramble jelly are delish too! I actually like a chunk of Cheddar with a glob of jam on it too 🤤

Get a bread maker @Biblioklept and then you and @Eveie_Wonder can have a little bake-off 😂

First I'll have to figure out how to get it off the tall fridge 😂

This thread reminded me of one of the best toasties I've ever had…

Mine was cheese and caramelized onion chutney and my friends was brie, cranberry and walnut. They were an absolute mountain to get through and the festive hot chocolates on the side kept us full for HOURS!!

Oh heck, I'd hate to be the cause of you making a toastie that goes to waste. So, I hope you like it with Branston pickle (other brands probably available😅 but I didn't want to confuse the issue and sound like I had cheese & gherkin toasties which I don't fancy at all).

That looks sooo good (& very posh).
