    I believe in you @Eveie_Wonder ๐Ÿ˜†

Oh wow @Mary_Scope. Was the hot chocolate orange flavoured?

    This made me thinkโ€ฆpudding toasties?!

Cheese & tomato for dinner followed by cheese & jam for afters.

I don't think I could actually be bothered to make another toastie after I'd finishied eating & I certainly shouldn't eat two (and would regret it if I did) but I like the idea.

I've got one and it is mostly great. I make a wholewheat, rye, spelt loaf mainly and a raisin & pecan instead of ever buying a shop raisin loaf. They are healthier than shop bought as there are no sneaky ingredients. Other than the one with raisins, the loaves I do are better for my diabetic husband as they are higher fibre, a bit lower on the carbs.

I make-up the recipes and add seeds, nuts (walnuts are nice).

    Hitches:

    They aren't cheap.

The Panasonic I have doesn't fit anywhere easily so has to be brought out to be used (and it is quite heavy).

Now and then the result is a disaster and it is really disappointing (but also rather funny). The yeast may have been a bit old!

It takes 5 hours in the machine (way beyond my patience if I want a piece of toast๐Ÿ˜‚).

[Is there an alt text anywhere for pictures?]

Good to know the downsides @Delphi. We barely have enough room in our kitchen as it is so I'll hold off on buying one!

For alt text: Click on the picture and at the top some icons should pop up. Click on the stick person inside the circle and you can add your alt text ๐Ÿ˜Š

Re alt text: When I clicked on the picture it just opens in another tab. There are no icons nor a stick person. I'm using a Firefox web browser, don't know if that makes a difference.

I remember years ago Masterchef Australia had a Jaffle (Australian toastie maker) challenge. They had great fillings like lobster thermidor, mac n cheese, Tandoori chicken and Satay chicken and they looked amazing ๐Ÿ˜‹

Sorry @Delphi I should have been clearer. You can do this when you first make your post or you can click on the little circle with 3 dots at the top right of your comment to edit it, then the icons should pop up.

A lobster toastie!? Maybe we need to be more adventurous!

I recently purchased amazons top rated microwave toasty thing for ยฃ20 because the reviews were excellent and i loved the idea of being able to put it in the microwave. Cheese + onion, cheese + tomato, and cheese and pickle all work for me. Unfortunately i was disappointed when amazon's top rated toasty thing arrived because after using it for one day the crusts always ended up inedible - kinda like chewing concrete. Anyway amazon's number one best seller is now residing in my largest kitchen cupboard alongside all of my other silly purchases.

That looks like a handy little gadget @MrHappy, it's a shame it didn't work properly! You can get toastie bags that go in the toaster that may work for you?

It looks like it would be easier to clean than a plug in toastie maker @MrHappy ? I can imagine the appeal of buying one, just a shame it didn't work

Thank you. I'll give it a go next time I have a picture.

Lobster would be super posh but I think I may prefer a salad to a toastie for that.

Absolutely @Biblioklept, baked beans inside the toastie ๐Ÿ˜

As I said, it does require that you have one of the toastie makers that makes pockets out of it otherwise the beans will spill out. Ours was a bit like this:

Two plates with toasted sandwiches on them. The sandwiches have been made in a toastie maker that creates a pocked for the filling and seals the edges into a triangle shape

And you have to be careful how much you fill it with or it makes a mess. But it's delicious crispy cheesy beany mess!

Is it actually a toastie if it doesn't contain cheese?๐Ÿค”

I think you can put any filling you want but I wouldn't have a toastie without cheese @WhatThe however I have cheese with anything lol

Oooh me too!! I actually just broke a little lump off my cheddar because I fancied a snack and just ate that ๐Ÿ˜… I have simple taste in cheese though and don't like lots of the fancier ones (or I've assumed I don't and can't bring myself to try!)
