A surprising fact about me is...

According to my mum I taught myself to read about 2 and so don't remember a time I couldn't do it. I'm autistic so suspect it's part of that as it's always just been there and I was a teenager before I realised other people didn't do it at the same speed.
It can be super useful to take in info at speed but I love reading and frustrate myself by how quickly I finish a book I enjoy. Not good value for money when you read them in half the time lol

@quincepurple75 that’s so interesting
I can read quite quickly myself but I my mind wanders and I seem to get to the end of page and realise I didn’t retain anything!!

In the early noughties I had a summer job as the voice of a sat-nav prototype

When I read at extremely fast speeds I find that background noise helps with retention, music I would be likely to sing along to really helps for example. I think it's because the bit of my brain that wanders is then busy humming along and I can concentrate

Hi - a surprising fact about me is that I used to ride a Moto Guzzi California 1100cc motorbike. It's the same one that the California Highway Patrol police (CHiPs) used. I've been abroad on it several times, and travelled round Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Germany etc. My first bike was a Suzuki 500cc, which I went to the Czech Republic on, just after passing my test. Had a few scary moments, but I survived!!

Wow that's very cool! How did it work? Were you in a studio recording the phrases?
