Hi @Budgie2, and welcome to the community!

It sounds to me as though this has gone in your favour, and that a home assessment is being arranged for you. However, I can understand your worry at having to wait to find out this for certain. My advice would be to wait and see if you hear anything within the next few days, and if not then try to contact them again. Keep us updated and let us know how you get on: I'm sure there will be other members of our community who find themselves in this position too.

If there's anything we can help you with in the meantime, just let us know!

You can ask but it is unlikely to happen or be of much use.
You can request a coppy of  the report within a few days which will be more helpful

Well if the assessor has put down the facts as we told them then they shouldn't have any  problems with reading back what they put, makes sense to me to get things correct before you leave the room. If this was enforced things would change very quickly about those who have had lies intentionally or un intentionally written about them.  A simple solution to avoid so much stress and all the re considerations etc afterwards with can drag on for weeks.

@Budgie2 According to the IAS website the claimant is entitled to see the screen throughout. This is what it says about seeing the screen: "Please tell the Health Professional if you’d like to see what they’re writing in their report. Sometimes it may be easier if they describe what’s being written." Hope that helps..

@Budgie2 If you decide to ask to see the screen let us know what happens as this would make a big difference to how honest assessors in general decide to be. There's no way of stopping them changing what they've written later on when they do the report but they'd think twice about doing that if they know you're keeping an eye on what they've recorded at that actual assessment.

@Budgie2 OMG that's awful, I'm so sorry. Who knows or even cares in the benefit system as it is what tragic stories lie behind each of us. I've had so many traumas in my life and I wrote about some of them in Q15 on the claim form but it was all ignored or played down so much it ended up with my assessor using a standard phrase 9 times in my report "Although she is diagnosed with anxiety and depression she doesn't have medication or specialist input for mental health". To write this she had to ignore antidepressants and 46 years of treatment and a diagnosis of PTSD. There are good assessors and I hope you have one for your Mum. x

Hi just an update on mums claim for pip after approving an home visit she gets a letter today saying the asessor has looked at all the info from Dwp and says we are writing to let you know that we have asked for further info from the people involved in her care or treatment  ( GP) we have done this to make sure the assessment report we send to dwp is fair and accurate. It goes on to say once we have received the further information our health professional may be able to finish your assessment without a f2f  (2 fully susported letters from 2 doctors were sent in ...im confused now to what's going on why don't they just do a f2f? One of illnesses is fairly newly diagnosed. My question is why do they need more info .

It sounds as though, for a change they have read the file. They are trying to complete the assessment without causing the stress of a f2f
