work capability and lcwra have apparently started now as I am told this was supposed to have been from April 2026 this just goes to show you this government says one thing then says the next there have been several changes to the benefits bill you don't know where you are with it so April 2026 is apparently not happening it stated restarts in the green paper scheduled for April 2026 but now its sooner NOW! So brace yourselves benefits and work website are saying wca have resumed so 🤔 🤷 there you have it lie after lie after lie same old same old labour are nothing but tories in different suits parasites the lot of them you can't trust any of them wca resumes April 2026 what cobblers they've resumed now what the hell is going on.

Well technically they started them back in 2022, but only very limited ammounts.
I think with the UC migrations taking place this will still be very limited for alot of LCWRA

The DWP has begun WCA reviews again. So existing LCWRA claimants may have their award reviewed before April 2026. But if you do not have a review before that date, or you maintain your LCWRA status when you are reviewed, then you will receive the pre-2026 claimant rate from April 2026.

The wca and lcwra reassessment have started for everyone on the lcwra and uc are you saying they haven't if you want to put your head in the sand go ahead but this is happening and its happening right now so people will have to deal with it.

All i said was that they may still be limited, most resources will prioritise for UC migrations, and with such a huge backlog some regions may put that focus to that first.
No need to be rude about put your head in the sand, at the end of the day we are all here to help and understand what is happening.

My last six were paper based, my latest was March 2024. I'm still on Iresa,not migrated yet to UC ,but any day I'm assuming.

No nothing has happened yet the changes come in April 2026 in the spring statement it says assessments wca lcwra reassessments begin from April 2026 where are you getting its happening now from because it haven't heard anything different its April 2026 when these reassessments resume again I don't know who told you this but until you know you're being told the right facts can you think about not just posting it on here just in case you have it wrong as people are stressed over the government's benefits bill.

The DWP does not send letters saying "We've decided not to bother you for three years." Instead, they simply update a field in their internal software (the MGP system).
What you see: Nothing. Your payments just keep arriving.
What they see: A "Next Review Date" that used to say June 2025 now says June 2028 or June 2030.
The Logic: They are currently overwhelmed by the 35,000 people who reported their health got worse and the huge wave of new applicants trying to beat the April 2026 deadline.
2. The 2019–2022 Backlog is the "Buffer"
There are roughly 1.1 million people in the queue ahead of you.
If the DWP only manages to clear, say, 10,000 overdue reviews a month (which is generous for them), it would take over 9 years to clear the current backlog.
Since the Work Capability Assessment is being scrapped in 2029, they literally do not have enough months left in the life of the benefit to reach your 2024 file.
3. Why 2029 is the "Hard Stop"
In 2029, the WCA is scheduled to be deleted. The new "Health Element" will be tied to whether you get PIP (Daily Living).
If they haven't reviewed you by 2029, they aren't going to start a "dead" assessment.
Instead, they will simply look at your PIP status. If you have PIP, you'll likely be moved over to the new UC Health Element automatically with Transitional Protection to keep your money at the same level.
4. The "Work Guarantee" safety net
A major policy change in 2025/2026 was the Chance to Work Guarantee. It basically says: "If you are already on LCWRA, we won't reassess you unless you tell us you've recovered or we suspect fraud".
This was designed specifically to stop the DWP from wasting money on reviews for people whose conditions are unlikely to change.

The Timms PIP review is currently underway, the recommendations of which should be out in the Autumn.
What eventually gets into legislation is anyone's guess.

There is a huge backlog 2019 ~ 2022 to begin with theres the 35,000 that have reported a change in circumstances then theres the 2023 ~ 2025 cases i got my award in june 2024 so im not going to hold my breath as there are a lot of cases before me its highly unlikely they will clear the 2019 to 2022 cases by 2028/2029
