LCWRA reassesment
I was awardrd lcw in aug 2023. I reported a change in my health september 2024. Uc were struggling on how to have my health change to trigger a reassessment so this was not done until nov 2024. I filled the forms in again when I received them in dec 2024 and sent those back jan 2025 although my health is worse now so they need doing again.
Does anyone have any idea how long reasseaments are taking? I keep being told that new claims are priority and i just have to sit and wait. Its been 17 months so far since I reported the change.
I have already had to drop my hours at work 3 times. I have gone from 30 to 20 to 17 and I am now on 15 hours a week. I have occupational health involved and adjustments made to my shifts and workstation.
I was on 17 hours when I was awardrd lcw and have been on 15 hours since July last year when I returned from 9 months on the sick.
Im also concerned that im still at work is going to affect my claim but I cant afford to not work.
Im also worried if I am awarded lcwra, the extra payment wont be backdated.
Thank you for reading

There is still a huge backlog of those that have LCW and have asked for a reassessment. You are right that new claims are being given priority. If you are eventually found to have LCWRA this should be backdated to the date on which you reported the deterioration in your health not the date on which any assessment takes place. I would advise that you contact your MP as they may be able to contact the DWP and speed things up.
