I've been struggling to think of anything to eat lately and just grazing on pringles all day for days. I feel pretty rubbish at the moment and it's probably not helping!!
What is everyone else having for dinner? Tickle my tastebuds please ๐

I'm going to be having a big turkey joint with tinned baby carrots, possibly some other veg and Bisto turkey gravy.

I'm actually envious of you & your Pringles, @Biblioklept, as I can't have them. But, I was also stuggling with tonight's menu, until there was a knock at the door. My Polish neighbour was stood there with a plate with two piping hot golumpki (Polish stuffed cabbage leaves) in hm tomato sauce. So I had an early dinner at 3pm. He also brought round a huge pot of organic kefir that I will have a couple of spoons of later with blueberries. Also, a pot of organic pesto. I can tell you what is for dinner tomorrow, konjac tagliatelle with pesto, now that will be easy. So have you some pasta, any herbs & a tin of toms, that would be easy. A cook in sauce even easier! ๐

Im on a health kick and loving the SW meals that ive had so far.

A jacket potato that's a sweet one is a great idea I've never thought of that, I'll definitely try it sometime with some grated cheese and spaghetti.

I just finished a salad and sandwich:
Sandwich: Ham, mayo and sourdough bread.
Salad: Avocado, cucumber and mango.
Salad dressing: Honey, olive oil, cider vinegar and salt.

When I'm able to do more than just heating up a ready meal, I usually mix a few vegetables, add some protein and cook them in the microwave. Tonight I've cooked: aubergine, peppers, onion, tofu and a tin of chopped tomatoes. Seasoned with paprika, garlic, coriander, salt, bit of olive oil. Once soft, I added microwave rice and a can of chickpeas. There's a portion left for tomorrow.

Ooooh was it good?! I love veg and ended up eating a bowl of frozen peas cauliflower and carrots - making turkey or gravy was too much for me!
Do they not agree with you or is it an ingredient thing with pringles @JessieJ?? They're my go-to safe food but sometimes I end up having them too often I get put off them for months at a time๐ Your neighbour sounds lovely and as does his good!! Kefir was one of my new foods I tried this year and I found I really enjoy it, especially with a sprinkle of crunchy granola or some banana!! Enjoy your tagliatelle today, one of my favoutire pastas!!

I tried sweet jacket potato for the first time last year and it was good BUT I can't figure out the cooking times, I did it for as long as I normally do regular jacket potato and it leaked a gooey mess all over my cooker ๐
Ooooh are they like ready meals or a recipe?? Glad you're enjoying them!! Do they have a big range?

Where's it from??? I've not tried fresh mango, I love dried mango and mango smoothies so I don't know why, I think it's because it looks hard to prepare!
That is a great idea @MissMarple, I ended up with a bowl of veg I microwaved from the freezer and added pepper too. I can't think what kind of protein I could add quickly with just as little effort, can you microwave chickpeas??

I'm sorry @Amberpearl, I know we're all working with very different budgets, it makes me really sad to think of people not being able to afford basic foods. Have you had your benefits checked ever to ensure you're getting everything you should??

I've got pip but I'm. Sure I'm. Due an assessment as it was offered for 2 years and that runs out in Oct
Since then my health has taken a nose dive and I now have arthritis and a bad heart
If I get another letter Il. Have to add to it
I. Heard the government were stopping pip for people with ptsd depression and others issues
Id have to have a reassessment
Before pip once rent goes I. Had 800 a month to live off
With pip I. Get 1223.43 a month
But without pip it would be impossible I really worry

You absolutely can microwave chickpeas! @Biblioklept And tinned beans and lentils for protein. I don't eat meat so it's usually these or tofu that are very quick and easy to cook. Basically just open the package then microwave. I also use Richmond vegan no chicken chargrilled pieces. They're frozen, take two minutes to microwave and it's 20g protein in 100g.

I know we're all different but ยฃ1223 a month after rent is quite a reasonable amount to live off, have you got lots of debts you're paying towards?? Or large council tax contributions? Maybe having someone help go through your expenditures might be really good for you so you know exactly where your money is going. Even if you spent ยฃ75 a week on food that still leaves over ยฃ900 a month for other bills and living costs xxx I've been where you are where no matter how high my income I couldn't make ends meet and would be so happy to try and help you figure it out and get in control of things, just let me know โค๏ธ
You should get your PIP review form in about March or April if it expires in October, and they've not made any changes to PIP yet so don't worry about that!! Thre are long delays with reassessments too so they will continue paying until you're reassessed

Ooooh with protein one of the main reasons I never do it is I worry so much and stress over cooking meat, maybe this is a really good alternative for me!! Thank you SO much @MissMarple!! I'd be really interested in other meals you make ๐โค๏ธ
