Back pay after moving from LCW to LCWRA
Hi
I have been on LCW for over a year while claiming UC, I was reporting all my health conditions on my journal and was told that I needed to complete another form as I may be entitled to LCWRA because of my conditions.
I completed the form last May 2025 but I waited until February 2026 for my assessment and after a weeks wait I have been told that I have been awarded LCWRA.
will I get back pay for this because I waited so long for my assessment to take place
What rate will I get as I have been told that the payments are getting lowered in April 2026

You will get the higher rate for LCWRA due to your dates.

Hi Kimi87
Do you think I will get back pay

Hi @Dannyboy1967 this should be 3 months from your initial report and provision of sick notes. Because it's been a longer period than the typical 3 months, it's likely you'll receive back payment but it's important to check the award date when you receive the paperwork and raise it if there's a discrepancy.
