I used to live in a small village and remember bottles of milk being delivered in a horse drawn cart !!

Christmas 1972 - being given a mono cassette recorder by my parents and using it to record Christmas day Top of the pops on TV via the plug in microphone…….."Everybody Shhhhh - I'm recording."

I've still got my Sony tape cassette machine. 1974, aged 11, I can still recall my mum dropping a load of cutlery whilst I was taping 'You're my first, my last, my everything'. Can still listen to that song and know EXACTLY where the cutlery comes in with a clang !!

Our horse drawn milk cart was only retired about 5 years ago and that was only because the milkman retired at 75 years old.

I remember my dad doing both jobs in the 60s…proper graft then unlike the moaning and striking that goes on these days!
