DWP - do they use private numbers to call?

I am PIP and I have put in a request for a mobility car,I have sent all paper work back .

I don't answer private numbers ,due to scams.

Got call today and it was a private number

Do dwp still use private numbers ?

Or due to scams are outgoing calls now 0800?

not rung back since,tried ringing been on hold a hour .

How will you know if you don't answer?..Answer it, you can always block it if it isn't DWP.

Hi,

Motability isn't run by the DWP. Are you expecting a call back about a PIP assessment or about the Motability scheme?

Hi @Tonight. The DWP will use either a private number or an 0808 number. Have you managed to get through to them?

If it's a withheld number then you can't really block it, doctors do this with call backs all the time, was it your doctor?.
