My daughter can be my carer she can come and go so not living with me she lives with her auntie

I can't afford a 2 bedroom flat but she is willing to put money towards the new property and live in as my carer

Hi @Alexander123 and a warm welcome to the community from me!

This shouldn't impact your PIP as pip is not means tested and it doesn't matter how many bedrooms you have when receiving this😊

    Hi,

As you don't get any Housing Costs because you own your home outright, your daughter's living arrangements will not make any difference to your UC.

You will need to inform Council Tax once you are living together.

Your single person 25% discount will end.

Council Tax Reduction is decided on at a local level and each local authority has different rules for this meaning it's very hard to advise on individual cases from here.

If I've read correctly, the carer won't be living there permanently in this case, so shouldn't affect Council Tax either.

In the initial post it says she would be living with them

It also says not living with them, living with auntie.

Edit - Ah I might have misread. Currently living with her Auntie. But would be living with the OP full time if they moved.

In that case, yes they would need to be added to the Council Tax.

So we could bye a two bedroom property together i would provide eg 200

She would provide the rest to upgrade to a two bedroom eg 100

We would be share ownership out right

I can still keep my pip and othere benefits

But have to lose the 25 % discount
