Will this be classed down as a new claim?
I sent my husbands WCA50 form back on 19/11/2024 and i finally got a call from someone at the Health Assessment for my husband, she was more shocked that his claim goes back to 2024 and that judging by his claim he might be being underpaid from UC, she also said that she will phone him within 2 weeks to do a assessment over the phone.
That was on the 22/02/2026, i ain't heard anything yet, all i know is she phoned me from: 0800 2600 700
My questions is, if he does qualify for LCWRA and it does not get sorted until after April 06 will this be classed as a new claim and will only get the reduced rate?
All the best

His WCA process started before April 6, so he should be eligible for the higher LCWRA rate if that is the assessment outcome.
You can find his assessment provider here:

That looks like a Maximus number

Thanks @Kimi87
Quick question, think i read somewhere that if LCWRA is successful it can be backdated from after the first Fit Note?…..so far my husband has provided seven fit notes (each fit note lasts 90 days) in total to date.
Or is this a myth?
Regards

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods before LCWRA is added into payment. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.
The waiting period starts from the first Fit Note, assuming there were no gaps in submitting them.
So after the waiting period has passed, he would be eligible for LCWRA to be backdated.
Any Transitional Protection on your claim would be reduced by the LCWRA amount.
