After being addicted to EastEnders for almost 30 years - I managed to wean myself off watching it completely a few years ago and now, I have absolutely no idea what is going on and who the actors/actresses are….

Not much difference to me tbh Wibbles!! I've started watching it again, 2 wks ago (after c 15 yrs) and not quite their with who everyone is/storyline etc. I'm sticking with it, for now. I think it will all fall into place ... I hope so anyway!!

I used to watch Eastenders, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, until about 15 years ago first to go was Hollyoaks. I was over 6 months behind and snapped that I was never going to catch up so deleted the lot! Eastenders went about 8 years ago for the same reason. Now I’m only keeping pace with corrie but I’m getting increasingly annoyed with the storylines they are often very predictable and are now being driven by “issues” corrie was never driven by issues, yes occasionally they’d tackle something challenging and yes I realise they are trying to attract a much younger audience because in 20 years time if they fail to do this now they could be in a position with no audience at all however they’re missing the point that younger people, ie those under 35 are no longer watching television in the same way, Netflix, YouTube and TikTok for instance and much like Chopper bikes, Wimpy bars and video cassette recorders, soap operas may ultimately be consigned to history.

I’m off now to watch last night’s Coronation Street.

I used to watch Brookie, mainly because I'm in love with Claire Sweeney, who's currently in Coronation St, she's gorgeous and seriously hot.

Along time ago I used to watch Neighbours with my mum.. I'm glad its come back although I haven't got back into watching .. My partner has no interest in soaps so I've not got the time to watch it solo :D

    It actually finished last year.

Although rumour has it it's coming back with a different name at some point.

    I love all the soaps.

I think they are all good at the moment.

Football is on tonight so unless you watch on catchup, no Corrie or Emmerdale.

    always loved the soaps

Brookside was always my favourite seen the whole series through a few times. Ironically the body under the patio storyline was the first week I ever watched it as a kid and the timing was genuinely a coincidence as I was unaware that was happening that week may 7th 1993 remember it clearly.

I watched EastEnders from the Eddie Royle Whodunnit in 1991 and watched everything else up to then on drama

coronation street I started around 1993

Emmerdale also 1993 About 10 episodes before the plane crash where Elizabeth Pollard threw a typewriter at Eric.

I always loved the aussie ones I have the entire series of prisoner CBH and sons and Daughters on DVD.

we live in a great time for classic soaps as PCBH is also on 5 on demand, brookside on stv, classic EastEnders on iPlayer and drama, classic Emmerdale and Corrie on itv3/x

and shortland Street is being uploaded to YouTube by the official licensor the first five years are there, stv shows modern episodes and the gap between ITV axing it in 2003 will soon be covered.

sunset beach occasionally turns up overnight on a channel cbs I think

    nostalgia rules.
