Hi
You should have been informed whether the assessment will be via telephone or face to face.
Each claimants circumstances are unique so its not possible to say which may be more successful for you.

They sent me letter to say I will have hearing appointment face to face

Then they should give you a date for either a video face to face phone appointment or an appointment date to attend an assessment center in person.
Its up to them to decide which it will be.

Hi you can either appeal to an upper tribunal or re-apply with a fresh application.
Either way its advisable to enlist the support of citizens advice or a free local disability advisory service.
