Lwcra and going abroad for health reasons

Good morning family,

I was thinking of going abroad to sort my health out, my CKD issues, and other health problems. I want to take two months as it takes time to get things done back home. One question, do I have to tell UC about this on the journal and two would they want evidence when I come back home that I actually went for any health therapy.

Thank you

    Hi,

You should definitely report this. UC stops after 28 days abroad unless you can prove that it is for medical treatment in advance.

Thank you, but how will they know that I have gone abroad as I am getting the LCWRA element

They know when you scan your passport at the airport. It's all linked nowadays.

Also if you sign in to your UC journal from outside of the UK they can see that as well.

If you were only going for a week or two then you could risk it, but I wouldn't recommend that for 2 months.

    Thank you,

Awesome for your advice and yes they are linked. I won't risk losing the benefit and coming back and they telling me I committed fraud.
