Pip question
hi everyone
I did a video assessment on the 9th March 2026 on the 13th March DWP said a decision was made and a letter was sent out . It’s the 20th of March I still have not received any letter or any text msg . Someone said check on the gov proof of benefits but there was nothing there and it said we don’t support pip yet
I would like to ask you guys is this normal or would it have been rejected
Thanks
Molly

I forgot to mention
First it was supposed to be a paper only assessment
Then they changed themselves to a video Assessment

You need to contact the assessment company for an update.

Hello @molly1972
The Gov “Proof of Benefits” page should show PIP awards. I haven’t heard of it say that they don't support PIP, but that doesn’t mean you haven’t been awarded it.
Did you call DWP on 13th March and they told you a decision had been made? That’s quite a quick turnaround, from an assessment on the 9th to a decision on the 13th, although it can happen.
They usually advise that decision letters can take up to two weeks to arrive, so it may still be on its way. If you’d rather not wait, you could give them a call to ask for an update.

I have called the Pip a quiet line and they answer instantly within minutes they all confirm the same information, decision made and posted out but are unable to advise on the decision.
I am thinking of the possibility they may have made some admin error along the way . I am going to have wait until the decision letter arrives0 -
Admin error? Are the DWP Agents really this incompetent or do they get training for it? Smh.

Its unlikely to be an admin' error on their part.
My partner had a very quick and unexpected paper based decision and it was in his favour.
You will soon receive your decision letter.
Good luck.

Hopefully it won't be too long until you receive the letter @molly1972

Sorry to hear your PIP application was not successful. You usually need to ask for a mandatory reconsideration within one month of the date on your decision letter. The safest approach is to put your request in writing rather than doing it over the phone. When you do it by phone, you have to rely entirely on what the DWP record you as having said, and you do not get to see or check that record. Putting it in writing gives you full control over your own words, and it allows you to keep a copy for your records.
You can ask for a mandatory reconsideration if you believe the DWP has made a mistake, if important evidence was overlooked, if you disagree with the reasons they have given, or if you feel the outcome does not reflect your situation and want it to be looked at again.
The key thing is to look at the parts of the decision you disagree with and explain, in your own words, why you feel it does not reflect your day to day reality. You can describe what happens when you try to carry out certain tasks, especially if you cannot do them safely, repeatedly, reliably, or in a reasonable time.
