I'm curious, if you're tired of this subject, why click on the thread? It’s much easier to just skip past to something you're more interested in. Catherine's just trying to share an important petition.

Thank you for sharing, I will sign the petition.

It isn't happening! It has been scrapped!
So why keep bringing it up!

I'll be signing it @Catherine21 thanks for sharing.

Just to be clear, digital ID has not been scrapped. The earlier version was paused, but work on digital ID is still continuing, which is exactly why these petitions are still active.

Compulsory ID has been scrapped..people need to read more. It's voluntary only, don't keep saying it's compulsory and scaring people..finding petitions everyday and putting them on here isn't the way to discuss things. It isn't happening full stop.

You've avoided answering my question.
It's worth bringing up digital ID because the plans haven't been scrapped entirely, the government is running a public consultation right now. Even if the current proposal is for an optional system rather than a mandatory one, many people still have concerns about how that might change in the future.

From your reply, it seems my post was not read in full. I did not say anywhere that digital ID would be compulsory. What I said was that digital ID has not been scrapped, it was paused, and the government is still developing it, which is why petitions continue to appear. The link you shared confirms exactly what I posted earlier.
Personally, I am always interested in any links members share, even if they are on the same subject. Different sources can contain different details, and something that might not be relevant to one member could be important or useful to another, so it is worth being aware of. Sharing information is how we all stay informed and support each other in this forum.

They had a democratic vote on it to scrap compulsory i.d and that's certainly got to be the end on it. Mandatory for working people only.

At the moment, this government would struggle to run a Country pub in the bum end of nowhere, much less THE Country.

I've also signed several 38 Degrees petitions on their website.

Petitions never get anywhere as I know of, nobody takes any notice.
