Iv aplide for p.i.p 3 times now last two times I was refused as the asessour lied about my assessment the first two times! This time I have managed Townsend all dicumentdbfrom my medical records and letters between my gp and rhumatoligist and occupational therapy! I havebrecived a letter from PIP telling me that they now need to contact all professionals dealing with my case as they still need more information! What more do they need as they have everything my drs and the hospital had! I'm confused as they also said I may need to go for yet another assessment! I feel like im being violated for the third time! I jave serio positive rheumatoid arthritis and was diagnosed on my 21st birthday im now 46 tmorrow! I also suffer with depression and anxiaty due to my rhumatisam! I get really bad flair ups where I'm nearly crippled and my partner ends up dressing me and I end up wearing slippers for up to two weeks where my feet swell up and can't get my shoes on! I get flair up in the ribs at least three times a day to and have been hospitalized 4 times with the pain being so bad I can't breath !

    Hi Sally and welcome

I would like to wish you ahappy birthday for tomorrow

You do seem to be having a hard time of things

Sometimes they need to contact specialist just to veryfy everything together . Hopefully if your care team respond in reasonable time they may have all the info they need to make a decision

I've had my pip stopped completely and have a brain tumour . I have good days and bad days but also had a nurse who lied in her report . On Sunday I saw an ENT surgeon who performed a hearing test and told me I've started to lose the hearing in my right ear due to the treatment I've received . I saw my brain surgeon after that who also told me my tumour is never going to go away . I'm now just waiting to hear from Pip about my mandatory reconsideration but im also preparing to fight them at tribunal .

Eligibility for PIP awards is about how badly you can undertake certain daily activities, e.g. washing, dressing, preparing food, taking medication, taking nutrition, using the toilet and a few more.  Also impaired ability to get around on foot.  And planning journeys.  It's not about your diagnoses themselves but how they affect your daily living and mobility.

Take a look at the list of descriptors on the Disability Rights (DR) site.

Having difficulty undertaking/completing living activities and walking even using aids should get you some points.

@Matilda Unfortunately I lost the feeling in my left side so getting dressed and undressed on a daily basis is a struggle as I can't do zips up or buttons . I can't even hook my bra up at the back so have to wear a sports bra . I struggle to get clothing over my head as my balance is bad and I fall over . I cant even make a cup of tea or coffee due to the grip in my hand being weak . I can't open cans or peel vegaetables . I struggle to lift my left arm up at all . From being a school teacher to actually turning into a social recluse overnight and relying on people to babysit me has been a shock to the system . Today I received my mandortary reconsideration and they have still decided not to award me my pip . Pretty annoying really when I was awarded for the same condition 3 years ago . Tribunal here I come .

I see no reason why you shouldn't do well at tribunal.  If you haven't already submitted a diary include a 7-day one with your appeal submission.  Go into detail in the diary and in your submission about your difficulties.  Disability Rights  site has a draft diary.  Make sure you list in the diary and in your submission all the aids you use.
